Seasons come and seasons go. I always say Fall is my favorite season. I love to see the world change colors before my eyes. It is true people will change, as well. In is inevitable, people will change for the better or for the worst. What I’ve found out about change is if I do nothing about my issues, I will change—for the worst. What I must do to change for the better is be intentional.
I have to decide what or who I want to be rather than listen to the lies the evil one whispers to me when I’m berating myself for what I see as a failure. Failure is just a way to teach me another way which doesn’t work. Most people who succeed, go through many failures first.
Ingredients to Success
The ingredient to their success is, they learn from their failure. Every diet I went on taught me something. One taught me it was the right type of food, just too restrictive. Another taught me the details bogged me down too much. Another taught me there weren’t enough details. God, though, knew exactly what would work for me. He kept whispering it in my ear and I kept ignoring Him.
See, I wanted to eat the same way I’d always eaten. I didn’t want to change. So I did nothing and in doing so, I changed for the worst. I gained weight to the point I weighed nearly a quarter of a ton. Looking at sure and certain death from heart disease was just one factor which finally began to turn me around.
I became intentional about not just change, but total transformation—body, soul and spirit.1 Then, I began to own my weakness for sugars and foods with high carbohydrate content. With God’s power helping me, I laid them down.
In the process and through the years of consistent commitment, I have lost 262 pounds. I’m 13 pounds from my goal and even then, I will continue to eat healthy and exercise. It’s my way of life now because I am a totally new creation.2
From Blob to Normal
It’s hard to describe what it’s like to go from feeling like the walking dead to feeling totally alive, from being a conspicuous blob to a normal-sized woman. Finally, I know when people notice me, they are noticing in a good way, not whispering behind my back.
I know what it’s like to weight 430 pounds. I know what it’s like to lose an extreme amount of weight. I know what it’s like and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Now, God has commissioned me to help you. It’s why I formed Sweet Change Weight Loss Coaching Group. I can’t help you, though, if you don’t make a commitment.
