Is transformation possible? If it is, what is the first step to change? After working with hundreds and even thousands of clients and from my own journey of losing more than 250 pounds, I can say definitively that transformation is possible, but when I weighed 430 pounds I felt it could only happen to others, but never to be. For sure, I was wrong!
Building A Foundation for Transformation
As with everything, in order to go build something phenomenal, we have to construct a firm foundation. I had a shaky, unstable foundation because all I knew about how to lose weight came from tv and magazine ads for the latest fad diets, pills, shakes or potions. When these quick fixes would fail, I would simply stop trying until the next latest, greatest thing and then I’d try that for awhile to see if it was the promised salvation.
I could commit to a diet in order to reach a goal but because I never saw it as something I’d do for the rest of my life, I’d simply gain the weight back plus more. Still I was committed to this style of weight loss because on some level, it worked. But losing and gaining back even more weight took a toll on my body.
Commit to Total Change
The truth is I didn’t have the first step down. I didn’t have a foundation to build on. I wasn’t fully committed to total change. I was only committed to a short-term diet. In truth, I was not committed to transformation because to transform I have to change, everything—body, soul and spirit.
Commitment in every shape and form is the foundation for transformation. Commitment will get us through the times when we’ve failed and want to give up. Commitment will help us learn how to change our bad habits into good habits. Commitment to dream will help us understand there is a reality we cannot see yet. Commitment to surrender will start us on the journey to transformation.
Success Path to Transformation
Recently I developed what I call the Success Path to Transformation. When I shared it in Overcomers Community, the excitement mounted because many told me they could finally tell where they were on their journey and where they were headed.
It’s a simple path that takes us from being a wishful thinker to a wise overcomer. The stages in between define where you are and how close you are to transformation. Not only that, they help us see the path we need to take and if we veer off the path, we know right where to get back on.
“If you leave God’s paths and go astray, you will hear a voice behind you say, ‘No, this is the way; walk here,’” it says in Isaiah 30:21 TLB. In other versions it says if you turn to the right or the left, you will hear the voice. God never leaves us to fight this battle on our own. He always helps us.
Let’s Continue the Conversation
I’d love to talk with you more about how commitment, surrender, freedom and transformation are all possible when we allow our God who does the impossible to lead the way! With His help we can move from wishful thinker to wise pvercomer. That’s the body-soul-spirit transformation we can receive.
I’d love to continue this conversation in more of a coaching and teaching environment. For the first time ever I am offering a Free Live Online Workshop. I’ll talk with you similar to how I coach my clients. Then, I’ll take your questions and share my answers.
I love questions because the questions you ask are the ones which will lead to the aha moments you need to go forward to transformation. I’d like to send invite you an invite to join me as I give you more information and tools to help you on your journey.
It’s the first time I’ve done this and I’d really like to you to be there. This will be a live online video workshop you access from your computer or phone. When you sign up you’ll get sent the link to our session. We’ll tell you all about how to access it easily.
I’m so excited to have you be a part of this history-making workshop! I’ll see you there! Don’t forget to sign up here.
As a little bonus, here’s a Facebook Live I just did over on my Facebook Page.
