Sweet Grace is once again #1 in the Weight Loss Memoir and Weight Loss Memoirs category on Amazon. I am so excited! It was there before and now it’s back up there again. It is also #1 in Christian Weight Loss Memoirs, God and Weight Loss Memoirs, Sugar Addiction Memoirs and Morbid Obesity Memoirs.
My goal is that Sweet Grace get into the hands of every super morbidly obese person who needs to hear the message that with Christ they can be overcomers. God does have an answer to their situation. He desires they be set “really and unquestionably free,” as John 8:36 in the amplified Bible says. That will preach, Friends!
Yes, my goal is book sales because every book sold means another many times desperate soul reached.
Unless you have been super morbidly obese, you have no idea how lonely and helpless it feels.
You know you are out of control and you have no idea how to stop. It’s like a freight train rolling down the tracks with no brakes! There might even be a child in the middle of the tracks but you have no way of stopping even though you want to with everything that is within you.
I’ve had many people tell me that if obese people would just moderate what they eat or not eat so much, they could lose weight. There is a smidgen of truth in there, but the problem is the metabolic makeup of a person who is extremely overweight is different from others.
Sugar and gluten are definitely the culprits. Many people can eat these things and stop when they want, but for those of us who have this issue, it is almost impossible.
Impossible without divine assistance. Impossible without understanding the power of God. Impossible without re-defining the fact that we are worth working on. Impossible without help and support from others.
Ok, I’m getting to the point here of how you can help! Recently Lorrie Ney sent me a comment she received in regard to her Amazon Review of Sweet Grace. Phyllis said, “Thanks so much for this review. It could be me, only I need to lose the same 50 lbs. I said I would never read another book, but I am ordering this one because of your review.”
Reviews help in several ways. First when someone is looking for a book, they will put in a search category. If they search for weight loss memoirs, many times they will look at the number of customer reviews. If there are one or two they will move on, but if there are say over 50, they will stop and take note. If there are over 100, they really take note. Sweet Grace currently has 70. My goal is that it have over 100.
They will look at the number of stars given. They will look at how many bad reviews there have been and read those/
The review doesn’t have to be long or involved. It just needs to be honest and heart-felt and to tell the reader why they should read this book and how it might help them.
The fact that my book has only a couple of 3-star reviews, a few 4-star reviews and the majority 5-star reviews really helps people understand there is something here they may want to read. My 3-star reviews are still good reviews, just people who don’t give 5 stars to every book. When you write a review, you can decide the number of stars to give it.
The other way reviews help is that they go into Amazon’s interesting formula for deciding which books come up first in various categories. I have no idea exactly how they figure it. It has to do with number of reviews, numbers of books sold in a time period, etc. I know the more reviews the better the ranking.
By ranking I mean, when you go to Amazon and type in weight loss memoir, Sweet Grace appears as the first book on the list. My goal was always to be first in that category which is much larger than the Christian Weight Loss Memoir category.
Categories are determined by the key words an author types in when uploading their books, in case you are wondering. For a print book, only five categories can be listed and for kindle I think it’s seven. Sweet Grace is doing well in all of the categories.
Now, here’s how you can help. If you have read Sweet Grace and not written a review, please go to the Amazon page and write a review. You need not have bought the book from Amazon to do a review. You just need to have bought something from Amazon in order to do it.
If you lent your book to someone else, ask them to write a review. Explain the importance.
If you know individuals who would benefit from the book, purchase one and have it sent to them. You can do that by simply putting in their address to ship to.
There are so many beautiful people who need to be encouraged by Sweet Grace. It has become a mission of mine to be able to share my story with them.
In addition, if you have read Sweet Grace Study Guide, even if you downloaded it from this website, please go to the page for the guide and write a review. Because the guide is available as a free download there aren’t as many reviews there, but in several months when I upload the update of Sweet Grace the entire study guide will not longer be available as a free download.
I may use portions as a free download, but it will only be available as a print and soon, kindle version on Amazon.
More books are in the works. Sweet Change and Sweet Inspiration are on the burners. In desperate need of an editorial assistant to get more books out quicker. So if you know of someone who is good at compiling books, let me know.
I am always blown away by the fact that there are people who actually read what I have written. I know God has a sense of humor and let me be born at this time because my handwriting is so bad this is the only era in which I could possibly be able to write books!
