Have you ever had a recurring dream that puzzles you? It’s like a dream that is something you wouldn’t make up for yourself or even think about during the daytime?
That’s what has been happening in the last few weeks. It’s not a startling or overwhelming dream, but one that made me ponder it, research it and try to understand it. After living with this recurring dream for awhile now I know it is not just for me. It’s for you too. I call it the Cadillac dream which really became a dream about breakthrough, not just for me but all of us.
All I could remember about the dream was a large white four-wheel drive vehicle with a distinctive squared off front hood and an emblem in the middle. The car was parked and idling. I couldn’t see the driver. The windows were tinted.
Then a few days ago, I saw a white Cadillac Escalade with tinted windows. It was the exactly like the car in my dream. Now, perhaps it wouldn’t be unusual for some people to dream of a Cadillac, but it’s not my dream car. To me a Cadillac is a fancy car. I prefer my little Honda Fit. That’s fancy enough for me.
I needed to find out what God was trying to tell me. So I began to research. I know vehicles mean ministry and vehicles which are traveling mean a ministry on the go. This vehicle was running, but was just setting there. Ever once in awhile the engine would rev like it really wanted to get moving, but it stayed still.
In my dream symbology dictionary I found Cadillac means, “A strong leader who sets the mark with excellence and a high moral standard. Your ambition will take you far because you are driven to succeed. Cadillac break through. A higher standard. In a realm all its own. Exceeding your expectations.”
Intrigued, I kept going and looked up 4-wheel drive vehicle. The entry said, “indicates a ground-breaking powerful ministry that believes in the full Bible preaching the four gospels of power. A missionary calling to go where other’s fear to travel.”
Then, because I know the color matters, I looked up white. Among other things, white means “Spirit of the Lord, holy power, purity, blameless, peace, victory and surrender.”
Why Wasn’t I Driving?
I put it all together I saw that setting ready for me to drive away in was a ground-breaking, powerful, breakthrough ministry which will be marked by the Spirit of the Lord, holy power, victory and surrender.”
All I had to do was get in and put it in gear. It was almost like the car was beckoning me to come. Why wasn’t I running to jump in? Why wasn’t I driving it away?
I remembered a couple of prophecies. One woman told me I had a breaker anointing. Another gave me the word fierce. None of these fit together until I began to research what a breaker anointing means.
It comes out of Micah 2:13 which says, “The Breaker, the Messiah, who opens the way, shall go up before them liberating them. They will break out, pass through the gate and go out. So their King goes on before them, the Lord at their head.”
Jesus, the Messiah, the Lion of Judah is the one who runs interference for us, going ahead of us and removing the obstacles in our path so that we can get to our destiny, the destiny He Himself has planned for us even before we were born. (Ephesians 2:10 TPT).
Last year during a prophetic time, I was given the word fierce. At the time I wasn’t sure how it related to me. Among other things, fierce can mean showing a heartfelt and powerful intensity. It can also mean powerful, strong or forceful.
Couple that with the Lion of Judah who is the Breaker and it is a perfect description of what God wants to do not just in my life, but in all our lives. It is our joint dream, revelation or prophecy.
Many years ago, the Breaker intervened in my life and jumpstarted me towards a life-saving journey to losing more than 250 pounds. I know I would be dead today if He had not consistently tried to get my attention, finally breaking through on my behalf.
I was headed towards certain death by sweet dessert after dessert. I was addicted and I needed Him to grab my attention and stop me long enough to shake some sense into me. I remember the moment He broke through to me. In a flash I saw what I had done and what I had to do to live and fulfill my mission here on earth.
I had to surrender sugar and flour and foods made with those substances. And I needed God to go before me and remove the obstacles I had put in my own way. I had to give Him permission to do that in my life.
It wasn’t easy to realize I had orchestrated my own death, but with the Breaker, the Lord, the Lion of Judah intervening with His powerful roar, my chains just began to fall by the wayside.
For all of us who believe in His power, obstacles can be removed when we do exactly what the Breaker tells us to do. If we don’t, we will find ourselves back in a pit of our own making.
To join with the Breaker all we need to do is pray a heartfelt prayer of repentance surrendering all the foods or the obstacles that have gotten us to this point and asking Him to show us what good habits we need to start in their place.
This is called a lifestyle change and it only happens when we want to have our minds completely renewed so that transformation can begin in us. When we become a person who is transforming daily, God can then move us towards the mission, purpose or destiny He has for us.
Drive Your Cadillac
To answer the question why wasn’t I driving, I think it’s because this was not just a dream for me. It’s for you as well.
We all have an idling white Cadillac Escalade inside us just waiting for us to climb in the driver’s seat, put it in gear and move with Holy Spirit power towards breakthrough and victory.
Each Cadillac may be the same color, but it is different. It is programmed with our individual destinations. It has everything each of us need to get where the Breaker has already gone before us and removed the obstacles.
All we have to do is push go and our lives begin anew.
