Reaching to touch God
Being content to touch man.
Filtering sun and rain and rainbows.
Showering leaves like autumn rain.
Creating shelter for people, animals, plants the same.
Enjoying every bird and squirrel and insect that crawls.
Engulfing everything it in its embrace.
Smiting nothing.
Enduring everything.
Bowing to the wind.
Shivering not in the snow.
Shielding, but not being shielded.
Protecting, but not being protected.
Caring not about its own purpose or design.
Becoming all that the Creator destined for it to be.
Standing as a sentinel.
Beautiful. Purposeful. Strong. Steady.
Bending, but not breaking.
Yet in its death,
Giving life.

Love this! Inspires me to be that sort of tree. Bless you :)
My nickname is tree. That’s why I couldn’t ignore the word even though it was way way way past my bedtime. By time I got it written, tree photo found, posted to website linked to Lisa Jo it was 1:30 a.m.
I hear you about the late night posting! I was up until almost midnight, but I did get to nap today when my boys were resting as well. What a fun nickname! I think you may live up to much of what you wrote here or you wouldn’t be able to write of it so aptly. May you be like a tree planted by streams of living water.
Well here i am again. Almost midnight but going to sleep soon. Thanks for your thoughts. Blessings.
How absolutely beautiful! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Thanks so much.
That’s a goose bump-inspiring, enlightening piece, Teresa. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, thanks for the compliment. I blame on the 1 am time frame. IDK why I always check email before going to bed and inevitably there is the word that I just can’t ignore!
